Coach Don Hauser is a supporting character portrayed by Kevin O'Rourke. He was Meadow Soprano's soccer team coach.

Biography[]

Don is first seen during Meadow Soprano's teams soccer match. DiMeo crime family mobsters Tony Soprano, Silvio Dante, and their friend Artie Bucco invite Don to have drinks at the Bada Bing after the team's victory, because they all have daughters in the team and are enthusiastic supporters. When they read in the newspaper that Hauser is moving to another coaching job, they try to convince him to stay, but the Coach is adamant on moving because another school has doubled his offer and will give his daughter free scholarship. DiMeo soldier Paulie Gualtieri delivers a 50-inch television to Hauser's house and insists he take it, which angers Don and he refuses to be bribed into staying. Christopher Moltisanti then steals his dog and returns it like the dog was found, trying to intimidate Hauser.

Tony Soprano tells his daughter Meadow that he thinks the coach is going to change his mind about leaving. She appears to be ungrateful and upset. When he remonstrates, she tells him that Hauser is sexually abusing her friend Ally Vandermeed who plays on the team. Tony considers killing Don for what he's done and even sets things in motion with Silvio Dante. However, at the last minute, Tony changes his mind and calls it off. Don Hauser is arrested after the police get an anonymous tip off from Tony.
