Biography[]

Joey’s father died at some point, and he took care of his mother, who was wheelchair bound. He also had a sister.

Joey later became an associate in Philip "Phil" Leotardo's crew in the Lupertazzi family. Underboss Johnny Sack took a liking to Joey, and took him on as his Protégé. Joey often went to high-level sit-downs with John and acted as his driver. Joey was drinking alongside John and talking about his girlfriend being an ex-ballet dancer until John spotted Donald "Donny K" Kafranza, a Soprano family soldier and member of the Cifaretto crew. Sacrimoni thought that Donny was laughing at him - this was during his beef with Soprano capo Ralph "Ralphie" Cifaretto and his crew over an insult about Ginny Sacramoni. Joey was unable to restrain John from following Donny outside, beating and urinating on him. Joey quickly led John away from the scene once he was finished and after the incident, still wanting to get revenge, Sacrimoni ordered Peparelli to put a contract on Ralph Cifaretto. Joey unwillingly contacted a hitman in Miami, but at the last minute it was called off.

During conflict with The Soprano family over a HUD scam, Joey was sent with Anthony to assault Victor I. "Vic The Appraiser" Trifunovitch, and force him into working for them.

Family Conflict and Death[]

During the infighting amongst the Lupertazzi crime family, Joey and William "Billy" Leotardo killed Lupertazzi shylock Lorraine Calluzzo, for kicking up money to Carmine "Little Carmine" Lupertazzi Jr. instead of John.

Little Carmine's associates Angelo "Ange" Garepe and Rossello "Rusty" Millio hired Angelo's old prison buddy Anthony "Tony B" Blundetto to whack Joey as payback for Lorraine's death, as her and little Carmine were cousins. When ordering his death, Rusty referred to him as "a friend of a friend (John), not a friend of ours" assuring Blundetto that Peparelli was not a made man yet.

Joey was killed by Tony B. when he was leaving a brothel in New York. He was confronted by Tony who was waiting for him outside. After being shot to death along with a prostitute called Heather inside his car, Joey's foot fell on the gas pedal and rolled the 2000 Lincoln Town Car over Blundetto's foot, giving him a compact fracture and then smashing into the back of a parked Chevrolet Cavalier several feet in front.

After his murder, Johnny told Anthony "Tony" Soprano Sr. that he was very fond of him and therefore he was a target for Little Carmine's people to get at John as payback for Lorraine's death. At Joey's funeral, Tony and John are aghast that Tony’s crew had a formal headstone carved with the name "Peeps," instead of Joey's actual surname.

After his death, Paul "Little Paulie" Germani talked about it with the crew at the Bada Bing, and explained that his brains were blown out in the car. Peter "Paulie Walnuts" Gualtieri jokes that there probably wasn’t that much, as he didn’t think he had any brains.
