Marie Spatafore is the wife of Vito Spatafore, the mother of Vito Spatafore Jr. and Francesca Spatafore and a cousin to Phil Leotardo.
Biography[]
Season 6a[]
Marie first appears when she and Vito have dinner at Phil’s house. ("Mayham") Marie and her family attend Allegra Sacrimoni’s wedding and sit at the table with the Leotardos, but have to leave early since Vito claims he doesn’t feel well. When they got home Vito tells Marie that he’s going to make some collections, which she finds odd that he’s doing it so late at night. ("Mr. & Mrs. John Sacrimoni Request...")
It is later revealed that her husband is gay and he has to leave New Jersey, leaving Marie and their children behind. Vito is packing up to leave while Marie is out. Silvio visits Marie after Vito’s departure and she tells him that Vito is a loving father and husband. (“Live Free or Die”) Marie and her children attend Phil’s grandson’s conformation party and other children are making fun of hers for having a gay father. Marie is very upset over not hearing from Vito, and Phil comes by and comforts her. ("Luxury Lounge")
Vito calls Marie from New Hampshire and she begs him to come home and tells him that Phil wants to put him through treatment, but Vito says he can’t trust Phil. Marie than puts Vito Jr. on the phone. ("Johnny Cakes") After Vito returned home from New Hampshire the family has lunch at Rockefeller Center. While Marie and Vito watch their children ice skate they talk about solutions for his problems. Marie is deeply devastated by her husband’s death and Phil and Patty try to console her. ("Cold Stones")
Season 6b[]
Marie asks Tony Soprano for help regarding her son Vito, who had become antisocial following his father’s murder. She also requests $100,000 so she and her children could move to Maine and have a fresh start, but neither Tony or Phil is willing to fund the Spatafore family. After her son gets kicked out of school for excreting in the shower, Tony offers Marie to sigh him up for boot camp in Idaho and she reluctantly agrees, he also says he will pay for her family’s relocation. When Vito Jr. is taken away in the middle of the night, Marie apologizes to him in tears and one of the boot camp staff tells her she’s doing the right thing and Marie dramatically sobs “sorry honey” to Vito as they take him away and she’s joined by a tearful Francesca and the distraught mother and daughter comfort each other as they sadly watch Vito get taken away by boot camp staff. ("Chasing It") Marie attends Christopher’s funeral and that's the last she’s seen. ("Kennedy and Heidi")
