Nuovo Vesuvio is a restaurant owned by Artie Bucco.
History[]
Season 1[]
Artie opened this restaurant after an arson was set to Vesuvio. ("Pilot") Carmela and Rosalie Aprile come here for lunch when Artie first re-opened the restaurant after the previous one burned down. Father Phil comes in and joins them. The Soprano family arrives here during a heavy thunder storm to seek shelter and Artie, who kept the kitchen open past closing time, prepared them a special meal. ("I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano")
Season 2[]
One evening, when Tony is dining with Paulie and Silvio. After Artie served them, he asks him to hire Furio as a mozzarella maker, but he says the kitchen is already full and Charmaine wouldn’t like the idea. Tony convinced Artie to hire Furio and he does. When Furio first started his job, here he smoked a cigerette while making mozzarella and Charmaine asked him to watch his ashes and he steps outside the kitchen. Paulie and Salvatore are sitting at a table and Furio joins them and Johnny Sack shows up hugs Paulie and meets Furio. (“Big Girls Don't Cry“) One day, Artie’s friend Dave Scatino (who is desperate for money) comes to the restaurant and the two men sit at a table and talk. (“The Happy Wanderer”) A week or so later, Carmela has lunch here with Davey’s wife and she’s concerned about his gambling. (“Bust Out”) One evening, Furio and Silvio have dinner here and Tony and Salvatore join them and they discuss a credit scheme. (“Funhouse”)
Season 3[]
Tony throws a party here for Chris for being a made man. Tony has lunch here with Furio and Jackie Jr. shows up and sits at the table with Tony and they have a talk (which Carmela arranged). Jackie was late and is disrespectful to Tony and he believes he had his Uncle Richie killed. Tony tells Jackie that his uncle Richie was a rat and in the witness protection. (“Fortunate Son”)
On one night, Ralph Cifaretto, Rosalie and Jackie Jr. have dinner here. Ralph, who’s dating Jackie’s mother, acts fatherly towards Jackie and asks him if he has any love interest and he recommends Meadow Soprano. (“Employee of the Month”)
One night after the last customers left, Artie is alone with Adrianna and and they celebrate a profitable evening. When Adrianna leaves the restaurant, Artie becomes very upset after Chris got made. When Tony and Chris are dining, a drunken Artie and Chris almost get in a fight. Chris leaves and Tony grabs Artie angrily and he tells Tony that he’s in love with Ade and Tony becomes amused. One day, Tony and Silvio eat here. One day, Tony eats here with Johnny Sack. One evening, Tony and Ralph meet here. One evening, Tony and Ralph eat here again, after which Ralph apologizes for his imprudence; which includes his murder of Tracee. (“He is Risen”) One day, Carmela and Rosalie have lunch here. (“The Telltale Moozadell”)
One night when Tony, Paulie, and Silvio have dinner here, Charmaine comes to their table and jokes with Tony about believing the people at the next table being FBI. Another night Tony walks in, but then he leaves immediately. (“To Save Us All from Saten's Power”) One day, Carmela, Karen Baccalieri, Gabriella Dante, and Rosalie eat lunch here. (“Amour Fou”)
Jackie Aprile Jr’s funeral luncheon was held here. During the luncheon, Junior Soprano sings a love song in Italian. Everybody is touched by the song except Meadow, who’s drunk and throws bread at a singing Junior. Meadow is so mad that she leaves the restaurant and runs across the street after being confronted by Tony. (“Army of One”)
Season 4[]
The gang has a birthday party here for Albert Barese. During the party, Ralph makes a dirty joke about Ginny Sacrimoni’s weight by saying she has a 95 pound mole removed from her ass. Paulie Germani and Patsy Parisi arranged a meeting here on Paulie Gualtieri’s behalf to discuss Ralph’s division jobs at the Esplanade sight while he’s incarerated. Silvio is in charge of the meeting. After the meeting, Chris jokes with Silvio about about wings in his hair in the restaurant parking lot, but Silvio is not amused. ("No Show") One night, Tony and Silvio have dinner here with Marty Schwartz. ("Christopher")
Artie hired Élodie Colbert (a French woman) as a new hostess and it makes his relationship with Charmaine awkward. Artie talks to Elodie and her brother, Jean-Phillippe about borrowing the money, while he’s sitting at the bar. One night, when Artie is sitting at the bar, Charmaine reminds him to call an order. When he goes into the kitchen, he meets Jean-Phillippe at the door. One night at the the restaurant, Elodie throws Artie a mint and he catches it. He asked her about Jean because he called him and left several messages, but he didn’t call back. One night, Tony and Janice have dinner here. Artie and Tony discuss the money thing in the men's restroom. ("Everybody Hurts") Tony and Carmela have dinner here with Brian and his wife. (“Mergers and Acquisitions”)
Carmela and Rosalie eat here after Ro went to see Ralph at the hospital with his son Justin, and they talk. (“Whoever Did This”) Silvio eats dinner here with Pasty Parisi and Albert Barese after Ralph’s death. The three men talk about how Tony killed Ralph because of the death of Pie-O-My, the racing horse. (“The Strong, Silent Type”)
Season 5[]
A surprise welcome home party for Tony Blundetto was held here after his release from prison. (“Rat Pack”) One night, Tony and Carmela have dinner here with Chris and Adrianna and Tony B and his mother Quintina. (“Irregular Around the Margins”) One day, Carmela has lunch here with Father Phil. One day, the two Tonys eat here. (“Sentimental Education”)
Tony’s Aunt Concetta’s funeral luncheon was held here. During the luncheon, Tony and Uncle Junior talk about Fran Felstein (who Tony just saw in the cemetery) and she’s the reason he never married. Uncle Junior then starts singing in Italian. One evening, Tony has dinner here with Fran. (“In Camelot”)
Tony has a dream that he and Carmella meet Finn’s parents at the restaurant. A waitress greets them. They join Meadow, Finn and his parents at the table and tell them that they’ve been friends with the owner since high school. Finn’s father is a deceased Vin Makazian. Tony’s tooth fell out and he shows it to Finn’s parents. A.J. appears and replaces Finn and disappears and then Finn's in the chair again. While Finn’s father sings, Tony sees Artie’s face looking out the window of the door to the kitchen. (“The Test Dream”)
Raymond Curto has a birthday party here and many members of the DiMeo Crime Family attended. Tony is unable to stay, so he come for just a few minutes and talks about his now dead cousin Tony. (“All Due Respect”)
Season 6[]
One night, Tony, Paulie, Silvio, Chris, Vito, and Phil are having dinner here. Paulie snaps his fingers at Artie asking for the menu. Vito sits down after hanging up his cell phone. Tony wants the whole Hesh thing settled. Artie hands the menu. One evening, Carmela has dinner here with Angie Bonpensiero and Charmaine (who is reunited with Artie after being estranged) is present. When Carmela and Angie are about to leave, they talk in the parking lot of the restaurant. (“Members Only”)
Carmela, Rosalie, Gabriella and Angie eat here. They talk about the silent auction and Angie arrived late. Artie hands them the menus and they hand them back. Gabriella mentions that Vito and Marie separated and Carmela is surprised, because they were just at Allegra Sacrimoni’s wedding and seemed fine. Angie’s phone rang and she answered. Artie shows the ladies a cooked fish. (“Live Free or Die”)
One evening, the New Jersey and New York crews eat here and celebrate the induction of Burt and Gerry into their respective crime families. Phil rants about his disgust for Vito being gay. After dinner, Tony, Carlo and Chris talk about the search for Vito. One night, Artie goes around interacting with customers, when he comes to the bar where Benny, and two other guys are sitting he asks how the bruschetta is and offers them a table. Artie hired a new Albanian hostess named Martina and Benny has a flirtatious relationship with her, which there are tensions over and the restaurant is losing money. One night when its near closing time, Artie sees the two flirting with each other and Benny tells Artie that Martina told him that he’d be the tallest guy in Montenegro and Artie asked if Benny's up for dessert, but he says no thank you. Artie talks to Martina about a friend from Manhattan who’s gonna help her with the green card process, but he says it can't happen. While the restaurant's financial trouble continues, Artie receives a visit from two investigators from American Express and they tell him that somebody has been stealing credit card numbers from customers, so they have to temporarily suspend the usage of cards. Artie and Charmaine have a meeting with the restaurant staff before opening. Artie becomes angry that he pulls a table cloth of one of the tables and breaks a dish and Charmaine apologizes and asks the employees to clean it up. Upon learning that Martina was behind helping Benny stealing the credit cards, Artie fires her. Tony insists that Benny’s parents have their anniversary dinner here and they do. Artie makes a covert reference to Benny’s affair with Martina in front of his pregnant wife Jen. Benny follow Artie into the kitchen and dips his hand into a hot boiling pot of tomato sauce and burns his hand. One night, Tony and Carmela have dinner here with her mother Mary, but her father Hugh dosn’t come. (“Luxury Lounge”)
One evening, the gang has dinner here and they give a toast to Christopher. Tony and Paulie talk about what happened at the church fair in the men's room. (“The Ride”) One evening Tony, Paulie, Chris, and Bobby eat dinner here. Tony talks about Vito Jr. who just got kicked out of school for taking a dump in the shower. (“Chasing It”)
One day, Tony eats here with Silvio and Bobby. One evening, when Tony and Carmela eat here, he tells her that he’s quitting therapy. When they talk to Charmaine and Artie about their kids, then they are happy. (“The Blue Comet”) Bobby Baccalieri’s funeral luncheon was held here. (“Made in America”)

- In real life, Punta Dura is located in the borough of Queens, New York City, but it’s supposedly used as a restaurant in Newark, New Jersey.
- The street outside the the restaurant in episode 3x13 it was filmed in Caldwell, New Jersey
- The restaurant parking lot in episodes 4x02, 6x01, and 6x07 was filmed at La Cibelis in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
- Some of the interior scene were likely filmed at silver cup studios.
