The Pollio Family is the original family of Livia Soprano.
History[]
The Pollios originated from Avellino and came to the United States in the 1920s. Faustino and his wife Teresa arrived in Providence with 4-5 Italian-born children. An additional child was stillborn on the shipride across the Atlantic and another two daughters were born in America. In total, they had four known daughters, Livia, Quintina, Settimia and Gemma, and one known son, Mickey. By 1998, only Livia, Quintina and Gemma were still living; Settimia is mentioned by Meadow Soprano to be dead in "I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano" and Mickey died of liver cancer at age 36 according to Janice Soprano in "Another Toothpick".
According the Sopranos Family History, Aunt Concetta, who dies off-screen in "In Camelot", was a member of the Pollio family, though it's unknown if she was another sister or a cousin to Livia or if this relation was by marriage, through her husband Nicolo, who may have instead been Livia's brother or cousin. Either way, Concetta's two children, including Josephine, are cousins to Tony Soprano.
Extended family mentioned by Livia include a male cousin named Cakey, who underwent a lobotomy, in "Isabella". Another cousin named Frank, who runs a patio furniture business, is mentioned in a script of The Many Saints of Newark. The same script has Janice mention a cousin named Dominic, who is either on the Pollio or Blundetto side.
