Mrs. Cifaretto was the mother of Soprano family mobster Ralph Cifaretto.
History[]
When her son was six years old, her husband passed away, which presumably left her devastated. As a result of this, Ralph had to step up and help her with raising his younger brothers and sisters.
It is implied that her grief over her husband's death caused her to become abusive towards Ralph, as Ralph exhibits masochistic and sexist tendencies that could be stemmed from some form of childhood trauma.

- Ralph's actor Joe Pantoliano claims his envisioned backstory for Ralph is that he was sexually abused by his alcoholic mother's boyfriend.
