Biography[]
Richard is the ex-husband of Jennifer Melfi and they have a son together called Jason. Richard is very unsupportive of Jennifer treating DiMeo crime family gangster Tony Soprano. He believes that Jennifer should not waste her time trying to "cure" a gangster. They frequently argue about it and Richard tries several times to pressure Jennifer into referring Tony to another psychiatrist.
