Tony Black gives out sandwiches to Bobby and the crew.

Tony Black gets some sandwiches for the crew for lunch, handing them out to Tony, his captain Bobby, Paulie and Christopher in the backroom of Satriale's when Hesh comes in.[1] While in a private room at the Bada-Bing, Carlo and Walden explain their port smuggling racket to Tony Black, stating that cargo inspections are usually lax because important companies such as Walmart prefer it that way, given that their operations would be halted if dock authorities spent precious time reviewing the merchandise coming in; this discomforts Tony Black, who is concerned at terrorists and their weaponry entering the United States without being noticed. When Christopher later goes on an emotional rant after having multiple drinks against his better judgement, Tony Black is part of the group laughing at him when Paulie makes jokes at Christopher's expense.[2] After Christopher's death, Benny states he received the tragic news by Tony Black via telephone call as he was making his collections.[3]

Tony Black and Bobby collect tribute from Stefano.

During tensions that are about to spill out into an all-out war between Phil's New York family and the New Jersey Mob, the DiMeo family controls an illegal asbestos dumping operation in Manhattan managed by businessman John Stefano, and Tony Black and Bobby are sent to collect tribute from him one day; upon arriving in Bobby's car, Stefano tries shaking his hand, but Bacala refuses due to assuming Stefano was in contact with asbestos. Trying to make small-talk and offering his condolences for Christopher's death, Stefano gets interrupted by Tony Black when he asks why the Polish and Hispanic workers aren't wearing protective suits, to which the businessman responds that is due to company policy and he must obey the contract in order for them to make money. The duo are considerably annoyed at Stefano not giving them their earnings in an envelope but instead a money roll, and Tony Black later gives kicks up to Tony at Satriale's.[4] After tensions escalate and a war between New York and New Jersey begins, Tony Black hands Tony his light envelope at the family's safehouse, since due to the current tensions, collections become harder to do; the conflict finally ends when the DiMeos track down Phil and shoot him dead.[5]
